This Cookie Policy explains how Causa Prima Germany GmbH ("Causa Prima", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies — such as browser localStorage — in our product at app.causaprima.ai (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data generally. Our corporate website at causaprima.ai has its own cookie notice at causaprima.ai/cookies, and our other products (Byll, Scribo) have their own.
1. Your choice, and how to change it
When you first use the Service, a consent banner lets you accept all categories, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or set each optional category individually — rejecting is as easy as accepting. Optional categories are off by default and run only with your consent (§25(1) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Strictly necessary technologies run without consent because the Service cannot function without them (§25(2) TDDDG).

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and takes effect immediately; it does not affect the lawfulness of what ran before (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Your choice is stored on your device and, for signed-in users, also recorded on our side so we can honour and evidence it.
2. What we use, by category
Strictly necessary — always active
Required for the Service to function: signing you in, keeping your session secure, load-balancing, and remembering the consent choice itself. Legal basis: §25(2) TDDDG; no consent required.

Functional — off by default
User-experience preferences, such as language and interface settings, that improve but are not essential to the Service. The Service does not currently set any functional cookies or similar identifiers; if it starts to, they will be listed here first. Legal basis: your consent (§25(1) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Analytics — off by default
If you consent, we use PostHog (EU-hosted, eu.posthog.com) for one purpose only: reporting unexpected errors in the app so we can diagnose and fix them. No page tracking, no session replay, no advertising — and error reports are sanitized before sending so that they contain no personal data. Legal basis: your consent (§25(1) TDDDG; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
3. What we do not use
No advertising or marketing cookies, no cross-site tracking, no social-media pixels, no fingerprinting, and no third-party analytics beyond the consent-gated error reporting described above.
4. Cookies and your personal data
Where these technologies process personal data, our Privacy Policy applies — including the purposes and legal bases (§5), retention (§10) and your rights (§12). Questions reach us at security@causaprima.ai.
5. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when the Service starts or stops using a technology listed here. The current version is indicated by the "Last updated" date at the top; material changes will be communicated through the Service.
